Workshops &

Teaching

Projects

Mark regards teaching as a special creative challenge which tests all ones capacity for clarity, confidence, sensitivity and generosity. He is especially amazed by some school teachers who are able to maintain a passion for teaching on a full time basis.

Currently Mark enjoys teaching part time, as an adjunct to his arts practice, both individually and in groups.

He has run workshops for Sydney College of the Arts, Ausglass, the centre for continuing education and Queenwood School for girls as well as at his own studio.

In his introductory flame-workshops, students begin by encountering the material in a playful way then, by demonstration and hands-on sessions; Mark takes them through a number of the basic processes used in flame-work such as sculpting, blowing and the application of colour.

Students pay an all-inclusive fee and can take home whatever they make.
